Mt. Horeb Elementary School decided they were going to try something different during the last school year. The school's attendance numbers were on the steady decline each and every year since Covid had hit so, we tried to create a program that not only incentivized the students but parents alike to be more present and active at school. After just our first year of implementing this program, our absenteeism was down just over 3% from the year previous with the help of these incentives. Of course, without the parents and teachers this program could have never been possible.
These students pictured above earned Perfect Attendance for not only one nine weeks but all four, 9 weeks throughout the year. They all received a gift card to Arby's.
Next, we awarded Katerina Morales with a custom pair of Vans shoes for perfect attendance as the extra award winner, gifted to one these particular winners.
AJ Cote received family passes to Mossy Creek Mini Golf and a gift certificate to Perkins.
This next part of the program we implemented to encourage parents to want to make sure their child made it to school even on those tough days. Out of our winners shown above, one of their parents was awarded a prize. Parent, Nikki Burchette, won Dollywood tickets for her family since her daughter had perfect attendance for the entire year.
Mt. Horeb Elementary will continue this program this year with new and exciting incentives! Keep a close eye out for the information about this program coming soon.
