Update from Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Dr. Arnold
On Thursday, April 10th at approximately 6:00 pm administrators with Jefferson County Schools contacted the SRO assigned to the Patriot Academy about a threat that had been observed on a social media platform. The SRO and Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division, along with Jefferson County Schools and an agent with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security began researching the social media platform and following this investigation at 02:00 am deputies went to a residence and arrested a juvenile for Threats of mass violence on school property. The juvenile is currently being held at the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center in Knoxville. Every threat to our schools, staff, and students are a top priority and we will work until those responsible are held accountable.
A Message from Dr. Arnold:
Yesterday, April 10th , 2025, an after-school threat on social media was reported to administrators who immediately contacted the Sherriff's office. Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation. A student was charged with Threat of Mass Violence on School Property. All threats are taken seriously and investigated. Currently there is no danger to students and staff from this situation. Please continue to report when you see or hear a threat to our schools. Thank you.
